Leadership
James Symanski, PE, MBA, LEED AP, CEM is President and Principal Engineer. He holds Professional Engineer licenses in Virginia (0402070389) and Missouri (2006002863) and carries CEM, CEA, and LEED AP credentials. His background includes energy conservation policy work at the Presidio of Monterey with the U.S. Army, firefighting and emergency medical service, and co-authoring Save Your Energy: Home Energy-Saving Solutions with Andréa Symanski. Andréa Symanski co-owns the firm and leads business operations.
The principal oversees development of energy design standards. This reflects personal federal-job experience and is not a client engagement of Academy Engineering.
